Portuguese Delivery!

A couple of beauties have just arrived from Portugal - you can smell the sunshine on them!!

This beautiful lace motif fabric, 100% Polyester (but feels like cotton), 140 cm wide and £15 per m

And then there's the 100% silk weave, all the colours of the rainbow captured in it -heaven! 150 cm wide & £20 per m

Another stunning dress, by my friend Sally, in our Tropical fabric!

It's a lightweight polyester, with a wonderful drape. Like silk, but without the care issues or the price!!

Haberdashery Delivery!!

At last some new haberdashery! 

I've been trying to find lace pins for ages, mine are all bent or mixed in with my normal pins! So, much finer pins for pinning sheer & delicate fabrics. 

We now also have sew in hook & loop fastener (Velcro, but a less expensive brand!), denim machine needles, cover button gadgets (to save your thumbs!) and some smaller scissors (for little hands!)

Chiffon Top Finished!

My lovely chiffon top is finally finished!  Tieing in all those threads, takes longer than you think!  At £6/m, I think I only used about 80cm, so a top for £4.80 is pretty amazing!!

Window dressing

I love changing the window, but this is really making me dream of holidays in the sun!!

Overlocker Heaven

In making the T-shirt, from the Great British Sewing Bee book, I have tried every possible option on my overlocker!! Finally, a 2 thread rolled hem worked and matched what I had in my head - thank goodness for sewing forums online! There are some great sewers who share their experiences on these forums, things which hadn't even occurred to me!

It's good to know, you're not alone getting frustrated 😁

Finally finished!

At last I'm wearing the Colette Patterns Clover trousers! Great fitting pattern, just needed to lengthen the leg a bit. I tested out their online tutorials too - lovely simple instructions for putting in the invisible side zip.  I've made them up in our stretch cotton poplin, soooo comfy and a pair of great fitting trousers for under £25!!

Another fabric shopping session!

Tula Pink is one of my fave fabric designers, so after her lovely Salt range (aquas, octopuses etc) we've gone for her Fox Field range in pink!!!  Unfortunately it won't be here til April 😞

In contrast, I'm still loving lime, so we've got some Heather Bailey on order!

What a fab job, she's done of making us a quilt sample, to show off our new Cheating Quilt fabric and co-ordinating border fabric. Yep, another pre-printed quilt design, so just need to sew down the lines!
