Cat Black Fiber Arts


I'd like to introduce you all to a lovely customer, who does amazing things with our fabrics!!!! 


Emily Black, just opened Cat Black Fiber Arts on etsy.com.  Moved to Lymington from Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2013.  Draws on background in graphic design, illustration, and Humanities.

Uses traditional fine craft techniques to create contemporary jewelry.  Starts with white cotton fabric, hand draws an original image or layers fabric scraps to create a design.  Uses machine embroidery, hand embroidery, and beadwork.  Makes own jewelry hardware from sterling silver.  Finishes the pieces with ultrasuede backing.

That's right it's time to cosy up on the sofa, with no disturbances!  Next Tuesday (18th) evening - The Great British Sewing Bee starts a new series!!! Yippee, pick up some tips, be critical of fabric choices and then discuss with your sewing friends! We even text during the programme!!  I'm guessing there will be a new book to accompany the series and 
I see on Facebook, they are also looking for sewers for Series 3!!! One for the autumn I guess.
