Well, we're in the new shop!!

Fitting Out!

Well, the decorating's just about done and the new shelving is in!  

Obviously, our beautiful haberdashery cabinet was given careful, special treatment - Sean and Richard carried her up the street! No car boot for her!  Stock starts moving tomorrow, with some new things!

We will be opening on Wednesday 3rd December, back a day, after a surprise visit from Holland by our eldest (it was worth it!)

Gone Fishing...

Back by popular demand!!  The gorgeous Fawn Day cotton prints, from Art Gallery Fabrics Emmy Grace range.

I love the silky feel, of their high thread count cottons.  This unusual fishing design, comes in a cream and soft grey, highlighted by pink and red flowers.

New shop sign writing!

Well, battling against the elements, but the sign writing is coming on!

Clearance has started!

Well, the new shop remodelling has begun. Emptying, decorating & refitting, will be keeping us busy during evenings & weekends!  But have no fear, our current shop will still be Open:

Tuesday to Saturday, 10 to 5pm!!

New Shop!

Well, the lease is signed & key handed over!  A few weeks of remodelling and we'll be moving in!  It's only two minutes walk up the road, so moving should be easy 😉

Christmas Decoration Workshop

Sorry, but we've had to make a start on those Christmas Decoration Workshop samples!  Here are a couple of the options, to make at the workshop, on Tuesday 9th December, 7 to 9.30pm.

Workshop Programme

The Mini Patchwork Quilt 1, 2 & 3 workshops are a series, teaching all the elements of creating a patchwork quilt, but on a small scale.  The 3 workshops cost £50 in total, including all materials.

Vintage Feel

I think there's a bit of a vintage feel, to the latest from Free Spirit Fabrics & Tim Holtz (normally known for his paper designs!). These are also available as fat quarters.

Art Gallery Fabrics Delight!

Just popping these beauties on the shelves!! I'm actually cutting a few fat quarters from them first, to replenish our collection. It's a really handy amount, for the odd cushion, bag, appliqué, as well as  for patchwork & quilting!

Easy Stretch Hems!

Having trouble hemming stretch fabrics? These Schmetz Stretch Twin Machine Needles, may be what you need!  They give you parallel stitching lines on the right side and a zig zag on the reverse.

Depending on the weight of your fabric, they come in 2 sizes - 2.5 for lighter fabrics (closer rows of stitching) and 4.0 (wider rows of stitching) for heavier weights. £4.50 each 😍

Fabric Mixes

Today's delivery is a combination of mixes. Linen/cotton, linen/viscose, viscose/silk, cotton/silk...! Along with some Spandex (my fave word at the mo!) mixes and Modal jerseys (apparently the cellulose used to make it, often comes from beech trees! Interesting fact of the day!)

The Great Wave off Kanagawa

One of my favourite pieces of art has been printed on fabric - hurrah!!! 

The Great Wave off Kanawaga by Hokusai, is printed on a medium weight cotton, 110cm wide & £15.00 per m.

I am currently cutting a few metres off, as I think my house needs new cushions or a chair covering or ...!!!

Forgotten Fat Quarters!

Many apologies I'd forgotten/hidden away the gorgeous Art Gallery Fabrics fat quarters, I bought at their product launch a couple of weeks ago! Their Pima cotton is woven with using a finer thread and 200 threads per square inch. This gives the fabric a silky feel and lovely drape.  We have a couple of their ranges, to show their beautiful colours and designs. There's more ordered!!
